About Perthshire Wildlife & our ethics
Perthshire Wildlife is based near Perth, in central Perthshire, Scotland. Daniele Muir set up Perthshire Wildlife in 2013, and is a native of the area with a lifelong love of nature and professional background in Environmental and Countryside Management. With an excellent knowledge of Scottish wildlife, a degree in Environmental Science and a Masters in Sustainability, she has worked as a Wildlife Guide, Swift Conservation Project Officer, Scottish Dragonfly Officer and Countryside Ranger for the last twenty-five years. She is leader of the Tayside Swifts Group and one of the co-founders of the Tayside Amphibian & Reptile Group. Having led hundreds of guided walks, with First Aid and Lowland Walking Leader qualifications, along with risk assessment training, you will be in the best possible hands!
With a small team of staff, all of whom are experienced Rangers, guides or countryside professionals, your tour will be led by Daniele, Joan or Jane.
As a member of Wild Scotland, we have signed up to their Wildlife Watching Code of Best Practice, with it being of paramount importance not to disturb the wildlife we are watching. Sitting quiet and still on our Riverside Tours is very important and we stay a minimum distance from the beavers when in the canoes.
We take our commitment to sustainability and the environment very seriously. In the office we recycle everything we can, re-use paper and purchase only products with a good listing in The Good Shopping Guide. Our phone, insurance and electricity suppliers are among the most ethical companies in the UK – Good Energy, Naturesave Insurance, the Phone Co-op and GiffGaff. All our banking is done through an ethical building society and the Perthshire Wildlife vehicle is 100% electric, being charged at home through a renewable energy supplier.
Perthshire Wildlife will bring enthusiasm, expertise and a sense of fun to your walk or tour!
