We’re really pleased to receive Trip Advisor’s Traveller’s Choice Award for 2023. This is the fourth year in a row that we have won an award from Trip Advisor and it’s great to know that people are reviewing their tours and feeding back that we are continuing to run excellent and enjoyable experiences.

Not that we can take much credit because it’s really the beavers that make the safari so special! But it’s fantastic all the same.

We have had excellent sightings of the beavers on all of our Riverbank safaris so far this year – with a 100% success rate the beavers rarely fail to impress. The family of 6 is usually busy swimming, feeding, foraging, grooming and generally being beaver-tastic though we have yet to see this year’s kits which are usually out mid-July. They were late last year and one of them had an injured leg but both the yearlings look in fine fettle just now, stealing the adults’ food and causing a bit of mayhem, which is always funny to watch!

We are now a team of four – with Jean & Joan helping out with tours in the Blairgowrie and Alyth areas, and Anne Marie helping out with the Canoe Safaris that we run with Beyond Adventure on the River Tay at Aberfeldy. We have had great sightings on the canoe trips again this summer, with only 1 trip so far not having beaver sightings.

The Swift guided walk & survey training session that we ran in Blairgowrie a few weeks ago was very successful, with 20 people attending, and even better, thirty or so Swifts screaming around in the air above us. We watched them zooming about, zipping into nest sites near the Wellmeadow and looked at how easy it is to record where we see these wonderful birds on the Swift Mapper.  It’s actually only a few weeks till they set off on migration south again – usually in the first or second week of August – which is always a sad day. The sight and sound of swifts screaming around our towns and villages is one of the best things about summer I think. We’ll have to make the most of them over the next 30 days or so!
